Charbonneau, Bernard

biography

Bernard Charbonneau (1910-1996) is a French thinker, author of some twenty books and numerous articles, which have appeared notably in “La Gueule ouverte’”, “Foi et vie”, “La République des Pyrénées” and “Combat Nature”. All his work is marked by the idea that “the link that attaches the individual to society is so powerful that, even in the so-called ‘society of individuals’, the latter are so little capable of distancing themselves from collective drives that, spontaneously, they consent to the annihilation of what they value most: freedom.” (D. Cérézuelle, “Écologie et liberté”, 2006)
