Jamie Allen is a researcher, artist, and writer who works at the intersection of art, technology, critical ecology, and the environmental humanities. His work explores how media, energy, and information systems shape public imaginaries and infrastructural life. He currently works at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel (HGK) and is a Principal at the international research network metaLAB (Harvard, Berlin, Basel). He is also co-founder of WORKOVERTIME, a foundry for interventions into metabolic labour and infrastructures through creative research. His projects include “The Lie Machine”, a long-term investigation into technologies of truth verification, and Functional Failures, Operative Fakes & Tenuous Techniques (with Disnovation.org), which examined systems breakdown, simulation, and epistemic instability in contemporary culture. His work has been exhibited and presented internationally at venues including the Neue Nationalgalerie (Berlin), ZKM (Karlsruhe), the American Museum of Natural History (New York), and the Nam June Paik Art Centre (Seoul).
