Goody, Jack

Jack Goody (1919 - 2015): British anthropologist who greatly influenced historical anthropology. Fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, he was Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge from 1973 to 1985. His numerous writings deal with the family, marriage, cooking and particularly with oral and written cultures.
